The reconstruction of the A56 Chester Road formed part of wider highway improvement works designed to upgrade a key route serving the Daresbury area and surrounding transport network.

Working alongside Balfour Beatty and D. Morgan plc, W&B Civil Engineering was responsible for the removal and reconstruction of sections of the existing highway drainage infrastructure.

Our scope of works included the removal of existing drainage ducts and road gullies, along with associated excavation and preparation works required to facilitate the carriageway reconstruction programme. These works were delivered in coordination with the wider highway improvement activities, ensuring that the drainage infrastructure was upgraded to meet the requirements of the new road construction.

Operating within a live highway environment required careful planning, traffic management coordination and strict adherence to safety procedures. Through experienced site teams and efficient programme delivery, W&B successfully completed the drainage and enabling works required to support the reconstruction of this important section of the A56 corridor

The Parkside Link Road is a major infrastructure project designed to improve local connectivity and relieve commuter congestion in the surrounding road network. The scheme involves the construction of a new 3.3km highway linking the area to the M6 motorway at Junction 22, helping to divert traffic away from local routes and improve access for both commuters and commercial traffic.

Working alongside Balfour Beatty and D. Morgan plc, W&B Civil Engineering delivered key elements of the drainage infrastructure across sections of the scheme.

Our scope included the installation of mainline highway drainage and associated chambers, forming a critical part of the road’s surface water management system. These works involved excavation, installation of pipework and the construction of drainage chambers designed to manage runoff from the new carriageway and protect the long-term integrity of the road structure.

Delivered as part of the wider highway construction programme, the works required careful coordination with ongoing earthworks and road construction activities. Through experienced site teams, specialist plant and effective programme management, W&B successfully delivered the drainage infrastructure required to support the construction of this important new transport link.

Installation of a complex drainage system (including pumping station and rising main), running alongside the existing main rail link into Poulton le Fylde. Dewatering was carried out, by us, before drainage works could commence.

Over the last 10 years, W&B have worked continuously with D Morgan on the Omega North & South Development. The schemes included both Industrial and housing developments. We have undertaken the installation of main road drainage and plot drainage (both surface and foul water).

Project included road, surface water & foul drainage to the new housing development, comprising of 278 works for main outfall, pumping station & all groundworks up to and including concrete slabs.
